World Bee Day Craft
🐝✨ Meet the Hive Helper Bee – a worry-collecting friend! ✨🐝
Bees don’t hold onto everything they collect—they drop off pollen at the hive to make something sweet. And we can do the same with our worries. Instead of holding them inside, we can gently pass them on to our Hive Helper Bee and make space for calm 🧠💛
This simple craft helps children express and release their worries in a playful, reassuring way—perfect for World Bee Day coming up this week, or any mindful moment!
🌼 You will need:
A small cardboard box or tissue box (this will become your worry hive)
White card or paper
Any art materials you like to use like paint, crayons, pencils
Scissors and glue or tape
White paper for pollen pellets (small worry notes)
🐝 How to Make Your Hive Helper Bee:
Draw or print off a picture of a hive. It needs to be a bit bigger than your box.
Colour in your hive.
Optional- decorate your box to look like a hive or bee. Or just leave it as it is as it will be hidden by your hive picture!
Stick your hive picture on the box.
Cut a slot in the picture and box where children can “post” their worries.
Create pollen pellets:
Cut white or yellow paper into small circles or hexagons.
On each one, write a worry, fear or tricky thought.
You might say, “This is something I’ve been carrying. Now I’m ready to let the Hive Helper Bee hold it for me.”
Post the worry into the hive:
Invite children to gently place their worry inside the box, imagining the bee transforming it into honey—or simply storing it safely until the feeling passes.
Pair with a mindful breath: Inhale slowly, then exhale with a soft “bzzzzzz.”
💬 Why it works: This simple ritual helps children feel seen, supported and soothed. It shows them that worries don’t have to stay buzzing in their minds—they can be gently passed on, like a bee returning to the hive.
🌻 “Just like bees drop off pollen to make something new, we can drop off worries and make space for calm.”
