Parenting Pause
Let's talk about the moment you snap.
You know the one. You've held it together all day. You've made the snacks, found the shoe, refereed the squabble, answered the same question fourteen times. And then they spill the drink, or whine about the dinner, or kick off about screen time and something in you just goes.
It's not because you're a bad parent but it is because your nervous system has been running on empty for hours and there is nothing left in the tank!
But here's what nobody tells you. The reason it keeps happening is not because you need to try harder, or read another gentle parenting book, or be more patient. It's because no one has ever shown you how to actually settle your own system first. We're told to stay calm. We're not told how.
This is exactly what mindfulness teaches and it's what I've built my whole practice around. Not mindfulness as another thing to add to your already overflowing to do list. Mindfulness as a set of small, doable tools that actually change how you respond in the hardest moments of the day.
I've been there too. Many times. It's why I built The Parenting Pause because it is exactly what I have needed!
It's a 6 week mindful parenting journey designed to do two things in the right order. First, to help you settle what we call the "monkey mind", that endless mental chatter and reactivity, so you can become the "steady mountain" your child can lean against. Then, to share the playful, child friendly mindfulness tools I used as a primary teacher and now use with my own two. Things like mind jars, feeling visitors and the kind and fearful wolf.
Anyone who signs up will have;
- Bitesize videos, text and audios each week so it fits around real life
- Guided meditations you can listen to in the car or while folding washing
- Printable resources for the fridge, the bedroom, the wobbly moments
- Two online live group sessions. The teaching bit will be recorded if you can’t attend live!
- A private weekly check in from me where we can have a quick catch up about how you are doing. This will be carried out on WhatsApp or text using voice notes or text, whatever is best for you :)
- An online one to one tailoring session at the start so it actually fits your family
But the thing I most want you to leave with isn't a technique. It's the feeling that you are not failing, that the moments you snap are not who you are and that you feel secure to have a range of tools in your toolkit to support you and your family.
Doors are open now and we start Saturday 30th May!
